What to see in Ustka - a guide for the 2026 weekend
A lighthouse, a fishing port with a revolving footbridge, an old fishing settlement with half-timbered houses, a pier, and a spa atmosphere. A complete itinerary for two or three days by the sea.
Ustka is a seaside town and health resort at the mouth of the Słupia River, combining a charming fishing port, a lighthouse, an old fishing settlement with half-timbered houses, and wide beaches. Below, an itinerary for a weekend or short break showcases the best of Ustka.
Day 1 - The port, the lighthouse and the old fishing village
Start at the port at the mouth of the Słupia River —the heart of Ustka's coastal area is the fishing and yacht port, where cutters and yachts moor. The biggest modern attraction is the rotating pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting the eastern and western banks—during the season, it rotates to allow vessels to pass. It's a spectacular moment worth combining with a walk.
Right next to the port stands a lighthouse from the late 19th century—a distinctive red tower that you can climb for a view of the port and coast. From here, head to the old fishing settlement on Marynarki Polskiej and Kosynierów streets—the preserved half-timbered houses create one of the most atmospheric corners of the Polish coast.
Day 2 - Beach, Pier and Promenade
Day two is spent at the beach and pier . Ustka has two beaches—eastern and western—divided by the harbor; both are wide, with gentle access to the water. The seaside promenade, with its food outlets, is a good place for a stroll and an ice cream, and the spa-like microclimate (iodine, salt, pine air) makes just being by the shore regenerative.
Day 3 - Blücher Battery and surroundings
On the third day, it's worth heading west from Ustka to the Blücher Battery —remnants of German coastal artillery fortifications from World War II, hidden in a coastal forest. This is an unusual, "military" attraction that you won't find in most resorts. Alternatively, take a boat cruise from the port or a bike ride along the coast.
Practical tips
- Best time: June and September – warm water, less crowds, lower prices than in high season.
- Health resort: Ustka has the status of a health resort - it is worth taking advantage of the treatments (peat, inhalations) and graduation towers if you want to combine relaxation with health.
- Rotating Footbridge: Check the rotation times – it's a spectacular little attraction in itself.
